Your life is what you make it...
"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."Harriet Tubman
The other day when speaking to someone I had never met before, we somehow got on the topic of their life. How they had tried so many different ways to succeed and be happy. They told me that every avenue just didn't work out. A newer employee at her job with less experience got promoted and she did not. As this person kept filling my ears with complaints of her life, I began to feel compassion for her. This person's life could be so much easier and happier if she would just realize that her life did not have to be what everyone else allowed it to be.
In Martial Arts we always teach that “you get out of it what you put into it.” You can't get more out than you put in. It's like putting $10 in gas into a car and expecting to drive across country without running out. Are you living up to your potential? Or are you living up to what your willing to work for? A great life and success are available for everyone. Sometimes success finds you, and other times you must find success. But regardless of the situation.... it never helps to blame others for your failure or lack of success. Simply put, it is your fault if you do not feel like a success. If you have tried 100 ways to be successful then you have three options: First is failure. Second is put more effort into succeeding in those 100 ways. And the third option is to try 101 ways. It is totally up to whether you settle for less or step up to the plate and make it happen.
There are an infinite number of options for ways that a person can live their life. If you feel as though the world has not provided the option for success, then you need to open your mind and find it in a place that they have not looked yet. But even if you find a way, you must be willing to put the effort into it to make it work.
Enjoy the journey of your life friends, just don't run out of gas half way through... Give it all that you've got. Only you can cut yourself short.
